As the weekend comes to a close, it’s fun to reflect on the events of the last couple of days.
We slowly transitioned into the weekend with a Friday night trip to the grocery store. I fell asleep on the couch at 9:30 pm. I am so lame sometimes, it’s frustrating. I envisioned at least watching a movie with a glass of wine. I didn’t quite picture face-down on the couch at 9:30.
Saturday was much more eventful. Bodypump, as usual and an afternoon of shopping.
I went to MODE. Designer clothes at non-designer prices. I’m so in!
I stopped at Salon Success and bought some beauty products. Bumble and Bumble is the best!
I explored various shops around town, and ended up with a few great wardrobe additions and a jewelry organizer.
I even found some time to dive into the magazines I’d been missing out on. I also took a few special moments with my Spring Nordstrom catalog.
Oh how I miss the feeling of walking into a Nordstrom store. When I called the nice Nordstrom credit card people a few weeks ago to tell them I had a new address, I had a five minute conversation with them about the need for a Nordstrom in Fargo. My husband shook his head while I chatted away. Apparently it’s not normal to beg credit card service agents to build you a Nordstrom?
Saturday night we went to dinner at Sarello’s with one of Eric’s customers and his wife. The food and company were wonderful. (A full review on Sarello’s coming soon)
Some words of wisdom: If you order a bottle of wine at a table where you are the only wine drinker, you will feel great and then, you will not. When you wake up sick at 3 am, the lesson will be learned. Moving on…
Today was a lazy one. It was just what I needed.
We made Kristen’s shepard’s pie.
So delicious, so filling, and so perfect for a Sunday dinner on a lazy day.
I’d like to close out the weekend by wishing my wise, wonderful and wacky grandpa a happy 77th birthday. He reads the blog, he uses Skype and he knows everything (I still think so). He enjoyed a nice dinner out with the family. My husband is so mean he wouldn’t let me fly there for evening. ; )
Happy birthday grandpa! I love you. PS…he’s a really good cook.

Awww – what a great picture of your Grandpa – framer for sure!
Glad you enjoyed the Shepard’s Pie too!
Awww. Tears. You are the sweetest. Gpa is a wonderful cook (just ask him) and between him and your mom it’s no doubt where you got your skills!
AWWWW thanks. : ) You are a pretty good cook too. Or, is rummaging through people’s cupboards the only thing I inherited from you?
Loved your weekend review. Your shopping excursion and magazine time reminded me to make sure I do something for myself, which is hard with a new baby. Your shepherds pie looks amazing! I will have to try your version. P.S. Love your pic in your sporty workout wear. You are too cute! I may need to expand my mommy/workout wear.
Thanks Candice! I am a huge believer that cute workout wear=MORE motivation to workout! : )
nice pic of g-pa.you need a shopping trip to minn;food looked great.love you
